Symposium for more Patient Value
United for Change: Transdisciplinary Paths to Patient Value in Oncology
Date
25 November 2025 , 10:00 - 19:00
Join us for a unique gathering of minds committed to advancing patient value in oncology.
This one-day symposium will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, patient representatives, policymakers, NGOs, and others working at the intersection of science, care, and societal impact.
Our goal is to present what we have learned during the Symphony of Us project and to bridge our findings and experiences with yours. Let’s further explore, discuss, and inspire new ways of putting patient value at the heart of oncology research and practice together!
It is with great pleasure we invite you to our Symposium for more Patient Value to be held on November 25th 2025 at USquare Brussels, Kroonlaan 227, 1050 Elsene.
This event aims to foster dialogue across disciplines, sectors, and perspectives, with a shared goal of advancing patient value in cancer care and research.
Programme Symposium
In 2020, the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) took an in-depth look at the cancer research system by conducting interviews with patients, healthcare providers, researchers, investors and policymakers. A fragmented landscape emerged, with no organisation with a complete overview, just different parties owning different pieces of the puzzle.
To improve the system, stakeholders worked out a shared vision focused on the concept of ‘Patient Value’. At this time, this concept remains underexplored in the cancer research system.
The Symphony of Us project aims to create an environment that encourages behavioural change and critical thinking. This is a crucial step towards the solid foundation needed to initiate change at all levels. As part of the Symphony of Us, a team of researchers with diverse backgrounds investigates the concept of ‘patient value’ through various studies.
